What is riso printing?

Riso or risograph printing is a printing method that originated in Japan to produce large amounts of prints in an affordable way. Halfway between screen-printing and photocopying, it consists of putting the paper through the machine multiple times and printing one colour at a time. Due to each colour being printed separately using plant-based inks, each print is unique and has a handmade feel to it. This also means there can be slight misregistrations and marks, which I’ve tried to replicate in the mockups here. But fear not, I will make sure that only the best-looking calendars will make it out to you! There might be some small ‘mistakes’, but that’s part of the charm of riso :)
